The phrase “wedding cakes” does not always refer to the variety of tall cakes, many of which come with one of the monogram wedding cake toppers. That phrase can also apply to any wedding cupcakes that might be used at a reception.
In January of 2010, THE LOS ANGELES TIMES ran an article about wedding reception fare in a Sunday “Lifestyles” section. That article did not mention wedding cakes toppers. It made no reference to wedding cake monograms. It did not suggest use of a particular type of wedding cake server.
That article was about the various ways that sweets can be served at a reception. This writer noted the mention in that article of an instance where there was a dessert station placed close to the dance floor. The dance loving writer liked that suggestion.
The writer remembered going to a wedding reception where the dinner was served quite late in the evening. After the dinner, the music started up, and the writer got busy dancing, and dancing. She spent the entire week trying to recover from all that dancing.
It would have been so nice to have a dessert station with lovely wedding cupcakes close to the dancing floor. Alternatively, the wedding planners could have chosen to have people walking around the reception area with trays of wedding cupcakes and other desserts.
This writer has learned that some wedding planners are now using that idea. Of course, when such servers are requested at a wedding reception, then they add to the total cost of the reception. If this article did not meet all your needs, then go to a wedding cakes site to assist you further.
In August of this year, this writer would like to see her son offer small wedding cakes and other sweets at a dessert station close to the reception dance floor. She has volunteered to man such a station, on the off chance that he would actually take up her suggestion.
