While jewelry boxes serve as protection for most jewelry pieces, they can quite easily get dirty inside despite having a lid or cover that would seem to preclude that from happening.

Here is a simple five step process to go about cleaning your jewelry box in order to make sure that your special pieces of jewelry stay clean when they are inside or outside of the box.

1. Take all of the jewelry out of the box and place them somewhere safe for the time being.

2. Clean out all of the areas where there are notches that hold things like rings or earrings. Use a soft cloth or something like a q-tip to work in between the gaps to get all of the dirt out. Using water works just fine for cleaning purposes. Using any type of chemical or cleaner puts the lining of your jewelry box at risk  and that is something you don’t want to do.
