Home Or Office Teeth Whitening?

If your thinking of getting your teeth whitened, or maybe tried it a few years ago with little success, then you may want to think about giving it another go.  I tried it a few years ago with some of the earlier products, and didn’t have much success.  Largely because it required multiple treatments, and I didn’t actually stick with it. My wife thought it would be a good idea, and that may have had something to do with my reluctance to follow through.  I’ve never been one that’s good at listening to authority.

But, if you have a notion that you’d like to have some whiter teeth, then perhaps you should check out the teeth whitening trays they have on the market today.  They gotten much better over the years, and are much more effective than they used to be.  This Idol White review should give you a better idea of what I mean.  As long as your willing to put in a little effort, you should be pleasantly surprised with what good teeth whitening products can achieve.  Do keep in mind however, that the natural state of your teeth is not perfectly white.  Also, if you have sensitive teeth, then it would be wise to consult with your dentist before beginning any whitening regimen.

A Repair Option For Damaged Teeth

Life is unpredictable. We try our best to prepare ourselves for whatever life may throw at us but in reality all we can do is go where the current of life takes us. This goes for our teeth as well. One day we may have a mouthful of healthy undamaged teeth and the next we have a chipped front tooth because we bit down to hard our steak and hit the fork.

Teeth are durable but are not unbreakable. Thankfully when they do get damaged we have some options available to us that can repair the damage. The option we will discuss is the dental veneer. Continue reading

Aesthetic Sedation Dentistry

If from this point forward you could entirely stop going to the dentist without any sort of negative health consequences, would you? If you’re like most people, you would have answered yes to this question. Just about anything sounds much more appealing than going to the dentist to not only be charged outrageous prices, but to also have to bear various forms of pain. This equally applies to cosmetic procedures as well, such as Cerinate Lumineers porcelain veneers in Florida or elsewhere. Some people have a long history of going to dentists that were after nothing more than their money. As a result, they may have been traumatized by these experiences. Perhaps they received treatment without first being given anesthesia, or were otherwise treated in an unacceptable way. Regardless, people rarely forget about their encounters with the dentistry profession and if they happen to be negative, they might stop attending regular appointments.

Sedation dentistry has been a welcomed addition to the field of dentistry because it gives practitioners a safe and effective way to deal with fearful patients. Although in the past many dentists may have tried to reason with scared patients, sometimes that just isn’t enough. Through the use of sedatives, dentists can now relax patients to the point where they will no longer interfere with the work that needs to be performed. When it comes to cosmetic dentistry, there is more than enough patients to go around that are apprehensive about having any work done. Their unsightly smile might be bothersome, but not to the point where they’ll let a dentist drill their teeth to install cosmetic Lumineers dental veneers. Fortunately, sedation dentistry is just as prominent in the cosmetic sector as it is in the general dentistry faction.

The entire experience begins with an assessment of the patient’s current dental health and anxiety level. A treatment plan is developed, which may call for the use of benzodiazepines like Triazolam, nitrous oxide, and in more unique circumstances IV sedation. Sometimes a combination of these is required to bring anxiety levels down to an acceptable level. The oral sedatives usually need to be taken a few hours before the appointment, while laughing gas and IV treatment can be administered on-site.

Once the patient is sedated, the dentist can numb all necessary areas with anesthesia and proceed with the work. The patient will be awake during the procedure, although in a very calm and relaxed state. If they experience any pain, they should have no trouble notifying the dentist. The medications used to sedate the patient will often create an amnesia effect, and the patient won’t be able to recall the procedure. This is usually a desired effect and one of the many reasons you should seriously consider sedation dentistry for cosmetic work if you have any inhibitions.

Bleaching Your Teeth For Cheap – Is It Possible?

A lot of people have taken up an interest in tooth bleaching as of late. This is no surprise, because white teeth can really look good on a person. A few years ago, I noticed my own teeth getting a little yellow and dark. Probably from all the coffee I drink and all the cigarettes I smoke. Those things can really do bad things to a person’s pearly whites. I’ve tried tooth whitening toothpastes myself, but I have found that those don’t really give any results. For real results, a guy’s got to use some sort of product that comes with a gel based on hydrogen peroxide. This is the chemical that produces all the real whitening results!

The one problem with hydrogen peroxide based products and services, is that they are fairly expensive. You can either buy a whitening kit for use at home to bleach your teeth, or you can pay a visit to a dentist to have him do it for you. Both the kit as well as the dentist will use hydrogen peroxide to whiten your teeth quickly. The whitening kit can cost you $100, while a visit to the dentist can cost you around $450. Both of these options work very well to give people whiter teeth, but they are also very expensive. Due to the financial crisis, I don’t have a lot of extra money to spend anymore. I needed a cheaper solution.

So I looked around on the web to see if I could find something with hydrogen peroxide a little cheaper. Soon enough, I decided to create my own whitening toothpaste using baking soda and a hydrogen peroxide solution! You can get both of these things for pennies on the dollar at a store near your. Once you’ve got these things, all you have to do is mix them up in a cup. Stir that mixture until it takes on the form of a paste. Presto! You’ve just created your very own whitening toothpaste! I’ve been using this toothpaste for two weeks now and I’m very pleased with the results!

If you decide to give this a try as well… always make sure to rinse your mouth with water afterwards!
